Elixer of the Gods- Bone Broth
Can we just discuss bone broth? Y’all it will change your life! A. It’s WAY easy to make and B. goodness it’s made from the stuff you were going to trash! Hello, let’s upcycle food!! The healing properties of Bone broth are incredible. My version is chocked full of anti inflamatory and healing ingredients. I am convienced if you make soup at least weekly with this goodness that you can ward off all sorts of illness! I keep a gallon size ziploc in the freezer and toss the bones & scrapes in there and whenever I get enough I make a batch. It’s really so simple. You are welcome in advance!

- pressure cooker or slow cooker
Ingredients
- 4 lbs chicken bones
- 3 carrots
- 3 celery stalks
- 1 onion, quartered
- 2 cloves garlic, smashed
- 1 tsp whole peppercorns
- 1 tsp sea salt
- 2 tsp tumeric
- 1 handful fresh herbs : parsley, thyme, rosemary, etc
- 1 inch fresh ginger, sliced
- 1/2 lemon, cut in half
- 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 6-8 cups filtered water
Instructions
- Toss everything into your pressure cooker or slow cooker. Pressure cooker sealed and set on high pressure for 90 mins or slow cooker on low for 24 hrs. That's it!! It stores in the fridge for up to a week and freezes beautifully.
If using a slowcooker cover and cook for 24 hours for Instant Pot select manul and set for 80 mins, make sure the vent is sealed and allow pressure to release naturally. Allow to cook and pour in clean glass jars. Store in fridge for up to a week. This will change your next soup recipe! And if anyone is sick with colds or flu sipping this will be heavenly!
