STL~ Weightloss

In the winter of 2016 I was diagonsed with an auto immune disese after months of feeling like I had the flu and swollen lymth nodes and found I had nodules on both sides of my thyroid. Life got harder and harder and i basically was pretending to be ok for the past few years. This time last year I was having and MRI, scans, meds, nothing was working! This Spring, I was finally fed up and said to heck with this, it’s time for me to take control. It wasn’t about losing weight, it was about getting my life back. I simply wanted to be able to do things 2 days in a row! I had been researching, for a long time, what foods caused inflamation, what made the thyroid nodules worse, what could help them shrink, was that even possible? I wanted to try eliminating all the “bad for me” foods from my diet but it was SO OVERWHELMING and then a dear friend, Heather Garner, shared a post on facebook and I immediatley sent her a message wanting to know what was she doing! I then added, please don’t tell me it’s a pill or shake!! My whole goal was to eliminate everything from my diet that wasn’t a real food. And that is when she told me about Scale The Limit. I knew this was a gift from God, I had prayed and prayed that God would give me to tools I needed to get my health back and boy he gave me so much more!!

I joined STL at the end of April 2019 and started the May challenge. I am happy to share that I lost 12.8% body fat in the 47 days and was crowned Queen of May!! I have continued to lose weight and now 7 month later I have lost 32.9% of body fat that’s 65 lbs! I have gone from busting out of 14 stretchy pants to 6 and some 4’s!!!! I have discovered what foods make my auto immune issues flair and have not had any IBS issues in so long I don’t even remember what that feels like! I have energy and most importantly I have my life back!! The cold weather still bothers me but it’s manageable and I am learning daily what foods make me feel my best and am so thrilled to share that I am worth so much more than cheese! I mean really it’s good and all but it isn’t good enough to feel like death for 3 days!! So, I am revamping my family fav recipes to eliminate dairy, soy, & wheat and still be crazy flavorful and foods that I am happy to share with everyone I know!!

Scale The Limit is SO much more than weight loss. It has changed everything about my relationship with food and myself. I have learned so much about me and yes, I have lost a ton of physical weight but I have dropped off that grayhound size baggage that I have been carrying around for over 30 years. I finally learned that caring for others is great, but if you don’t take care of YOU then YOU are no good to anyone. It’s not selfish to take care of yourself, it’s essential. We on;y get one body in the life and we need to embrace it and love it well.
